Weekly Meeting Minutes
The Meeting of 26th June 2018
The Meeting was opened at 7pm by President Kerry Jones
The Toast to Australia was proposed by President Kerry Jones
Apologies: Phil Chambeyron, Steve Crosling, Linda Gidlund, Gary Hennessy, Emerald Leyden, Rob Lloyd, Pat Millar, David Palermo
Reports: President Kerry Presented a membership certificate to Ray O’Meara.
Kerry mentioned that Rob Lloyd will need further treatment.
Kerry asked members to please book for Changeover. She mentioned that Emerald Leyden has asked to suspend her membership for the next year. Alicia Hall will speak to Emerald and offer a reduced membership. The position of Public relations will be open.

John Egan mentioned that the interact Club will have the drawing for the raffle this Thursday and that books have been taken to Donations in Kind in Footscray.
John Gatt mentioned that there will be a Town Fair meeting this Monday
Arthur Lewin said that the council has approved a BBQ for the tree planting at Challenger Street on the 29th July. Volunteers are needed.
Funding Application from Renee Mackenzie for the next production of Shakespeare in the Park, was received positively by the members. The members want to seel drinks and have a BBQ.
Contact from the President of Diamond Valley Lions Club regarding reviving the Combined Services Dinner (or something similar) in Diamond Creek. A committee was formed of Martin Sadle Warwick Leeson and Elysia Hall, and venues suggested, Swiper’s Gully, the Bowling Club, the Men’s Shed, the Basket ball stadium.
A Tram for Diamond Creek This is a 2-3-year project that will not entail an outlay of money as grants will be sought.The Men’s shed will do a fit out and maintenance. Mebers were positive about thisproject.’
Working with Children Certificates for volunteers at the Town Fair. The club members understand that these are necessary by law. The club secretary will send out notice to members.
Request for sponsorship for teacher training in Nepal. This would cost $84 and the members were supportive.
The Raffle raised $ 56 and the Bottle of wine was won by: Greg Adams
