The Rotary Club of Teddington and The Hamptons was founded in 1924 and is based in in area around London.
As well as regular club meetings, this club has an innovative new satellite group that meets twice a month in a less formal way to encourage busy professionals to get more involved with less time commitment.
The club’s major fundraiser for the year is a huge collection that takes place in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Santa, with decorated sleigh and a band of willing helpers travel through the local streets collecting money.
As well as travelling through the streets, the club also has static collections in front of shops or in shopping malls where they are joined by a local choir. The money raised goes towards a huge range of projects including Shelterbox, End Polio and play equipment for a family with a child with severe ADHD.
The Rotary Club of Teddington and The Hamptons meets at 7.15pm on Thursdays.
