Founded on May 28, 1925 at the Hotel Schweizerhof, the oldest club in Central Switzerland has around 100 members.
The club supports a huge range of projects, these include:
Charity for Hospitalised Children
In conjunction with Ronald McDonald Parental Home at the Lucerne Children's Hospital. This home allows parents of hospitalised children to stay close to them, making an important contribution to the children's healing process.
LU-TIXI WHEELCHAIR TAXI
LU-Tixi mainly transports people in wheelchairs and handicapped people. Even people who are temporarily or permanently restricted in their freedom of movement by foot belong to the passengers. 15,000 francs donated by the Rotary Club Lucerne will be invested in the latest VW Caddy vehicles.
The club also supports programs such as Rotary Youth Exchange, Mine-Ex, Drinking Water Filter for Haiti and much more.
The club meets for lunch every Monday at 12:15pm
In the summer months (April to September) they meet at the Hotel Schweizerhof and in the winter months (October to March) at the Hotel Wilden Mann.
